Case alpha

A 35 year old male presents to the clinic with shortness of breath and fatigue. He was exposed to a co-worker with coronavirus disease (COVID19). He was admitted to the corona virus disease unit. His viral panel including SARS-CoV2 is sent for analysis. He underwent a chest X-Ray (CXR) as an initial imaging scan and a resident placed an order for a CT-Chest. The report from radiology for his CXR is still in processing. His oxygen saturation is 90% and labs are pending. You are a medical student on team and are asked to identify the anatomic structures on the frontal view of CXR by the attending.

How to read a CT Abdomen and Pelvis

Case alpha

A 55 year old male underwent a CT scan of abdomen and pelvis for the evaluation of abdominal pain. The report from radiology is still in processing. His vitals are stable, blood tests ultrasound abdomen were inconclusive. You are a sub-intern on team and are asked to identify the anatomic structures on the scan during the rounds by the attending. How will you proceed?
